Security forces have achieved a significant victory in the fight against Naxalism by capturing the Karegutta hill in Chhattisgarh, a long-standing Naxal stronghold. The nine-day operation, part of ‘Operation Tanka’, involved airdropping 500 commanders in challenging terrain. The tricolour now flies at 5000 feet, marking the end of Naxal dominance in the area. This operation aligns with the Home Minister’s goal to free India from Naxalism by March 2026.
