On December 4, 2024, the Indian Navy presented an impressive operational demonstration at Blue Flag Beach, Puri, marking Navy Day and the anniversary of Operation Trident, a pivotal moment in the 1971 Indo-Pak War. The event was graced by President Droupadi Murmu, with Admiral Dinesh K. Tripathi, Chief of Naval Staff, hosting the occasion.
The demonstration involved a joint amphibious operational showcase between the Indian Army’s Mechanised Infantry and the Indian Navy. Over 15 ships, submarines, and 40 aircraft participated, including advanced platforms like the MiG-29K fighter jets. The event highlights the integration of land, sea, and air forces during amphibious operations, demonstrating the Navy’s cutting-edge capabilities with Marine Commandos (MARCOS), submarine operations, amphibious landings, and rocket fire from warships.
Admiral Tripathi also addressed concerns regarding Pakistan’s expanding naval fleet, bolstered by Chinese support, which poses a challenge to India’s maritime dominance.
The event will conclude with a Beating Retreat Ceremony, precision drills, and a laser and drone show. Extensive arrangements have been made to ensure a smooth event for visitors, with strict safety protocols in place.
