Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate the first phase of the Navi Mumbai International Airport on October 8. The project, India’s largest greenfield airport, costs approximately ₹19,650 crores and is expected to significantly boost the regional economy. With Terminal one operations scheduled to begin in December, real estate prices in nearby areas like Panvel, Ulve, and Kharghar are already soaring. The airport, which will feature four terminals and two runways, is designed to enhance connectivity, create numerous jobs, and spur commercial development. During his two-day visit to Maharashtra, the Prime Minister will also inaugurate the final phase of Mumbai Metro Line 3. A speaker noted the project’s importance, stating the new runways will "decongest the traffic in Mumbai and it is going to divert the traffic outside the Mumbai."
