NASA Spots Rogue Object Leaving Milky Way | WION Podcast

NASA’s Backyard Worlds project has identified a hyper-speed space object—possibly a brown dwarf—named CWISE J1249, which is on track to exit the Milky Way. This runaway body, over 27,000 times the size of Earth, may have been ejected by a supernova or black hole interaction. With unusually low metal content, it likely belongs to one of the galaxy’s earliest star generations. If confirmed, it would be the first brown dwarf observed escaping the Milky Way, offering new insights into stellar dynamics and galactic history.
