Residents of Bangkok, the capital of Thailand, experienced a significant earthquake on Friday, when a building that was still under construction collapsed, trapping at least forty-three workers. Citing initial findings, Germany’s GFZ Institute for geosciences stated that the earthquake’s epicenter was in neighboring Myanmar. At a shallow 10 kilometers (6.2 miles), it was recorded.
According to the United States Geological Survey (USGS), the earthquake had a magnitude of 7.7, and a 6.4 aftershock came shortly after.
