Local people protested when one of the houses under the Mukhya Mantri Awas Yojana was allotted to a Muslim at a residential society in Gujarat’s Vadodara. Local people alleged that the house had been allotted to a Muslim despite the Disturbance Act being in effect there.
The housing society by the name Motnath Residency in Harni area of ​​Vadodara has been built under the Mukhya Mantri Awas Yojana. There are 461 houses in the society. Locals living there for the last six to seven years started protesting when the news of a Muslim family owning a house came to light.
Notably, the Gujarat government has made the Disturbance Act according to which houses cannot be sold to people of any other religion, especially to minorities, in a Hindu colony.
