Muslims dominate 10 out of Delhi’s 70 assembly seats and make up around 12% of its population. Their support has shifted between the Congress and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in recent years. The AAP’s strong organisational network and Arvind Kejriwal’s image as a pro-minority leader may continue to attract a large number of Muslim votes, despite the challenge posed by the AIMIM. The Congress has also campaigned extensively, but the AAP’s work in education and healthcare sectors has garnered significant support from the Muslim community.
