Riots broke out in Murshidabad, West Bengal following the passage of the Waqf Bill in Parliament. The TMC government blamed the BJP and central agencies like BSF for fanning the violence, while BJP accused TMC of appeasement politics. Three people died and hundreds were displaced. Governor Ananda Bose is visiting the affected areas. Suspected Bangladeshi infiltrators and local radical elements are being investigated for instigating the riots.
