Heavy rain has battered Mumbai, with the city receiving about 550 mm of rain in the last three days. The downpour has led to widespread waterlogging, inundated homes, and the closure of schools and offices. Public transport has been severely affected, with local trains on waterlogged tracks coming to a halt and subways being blocked. The Mithi River is flowing at a high level. The Maharashtra government has shut schools in Mumbai, Thane, and surrounding areas. In Goregaon, the road outside the inundated Oberoi Mall has turned into what one report described as a "swimming pool for these children." The Met department has issued a warning, indicating that the heavy rain will continue.
