In a display of religious harmony, Mumbai’s Muslim community voluntarily shifted their Eid celebrations to accommodate the ongoing Ganesh Chaturthi festival. This is the second consecutive year that the community has rescheduled their procession to ensure communal harmony. The Maharashtra government also shifted the Eid holiday from 16th to 18th September. The Mumbai police have made adequate arrangements for both processions. This move comes at a time when religious processions are increasingly becoming communal flashpoints.
