Violence erupted in Bihar’s Katihar during a Muharram procession when stones were pelted at a Hanuman temple, causing damage. The incident occurred around 4:30-5:00 PM as the Tazia Jaloos was passing near a Mahavir Mandir. Clashes broke out between two communities, resulting in vehicle vandalism and injuries to about a dozen people. Police from adjoining districts were deployed to control the situation. The administration is now working to identify and arrest the anti-social elements involved in the stone-pelting. The puja at the temple has restarted amid heavy police presence. A local resident stated, ‘Hamaara Hanuman mandir pe log aaj Muharram ka din tha iloga toh aaj in logon ne return jaane ke samay Mein ye log Mahabhir mandir sanjanit Mahabhir mandir pe ye log hita Prasad chalaya.’
