The commission led by retired judge P N Desai has provided a clean chit to the family of Karnataka Chief Minister Siddharamaiah in the Muda site scam. The family was accused of illegal alternative site allotment in Mysuru between 2020 and 2024. The commission’s report states that the "allotment of size as compensation cannot be termed as illegal". It concludes that officials were responsible for the scam and recommends legal action against them for the utilization of denotified land in Kesari village. While the landowner had requested alternative undeveloped land as compensation in a resolution passed in 2017, it was not implemented.
