In a heart-wrenching interview with India Today, the mother of 23-year-old Sahil, who was killed by a speeding Scorpio driven by a minor in Delhi’s Sector 11, expressed her deep anguish over the systemic failures that led to her son’s death. She recounted the horrific night, stating, ‘My child was lying on the road for two hours. Ambulance was standing there but they didn’t take him to the hospital.’ The grieving mother alleged that the accused, identified as Akshatra Singh, and his family are using their influence as transporters to evade justice. She highlighted that the vehicle involved had 13 previous challans for overspeeding, yet remained on the road. Furthermore, she claimed the accused were making ‘fun reels’ at the time of the accident and that she has received threats for speaking out. Despite the trauma, she remains determined to seek justice, questioning a legal system where bail is easily granted in hit-and-run cases.
