A political controversy has erupted over a meeting held by Akhilesh Yadav with his fellow MPs in the Parliament Mosque. In response, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is set to protest against the move. A delegation from the BJP’s Minority Morcha is scheduled to visit the mosque at 11:30 am to seek permission to hold a similar political gathering. BJP leader Jamal Siddiqui questioned the meeting, stating, "you cannot hold a political meeting in a mosque and if Akhilesh Yadav can do it, then why cannot the BJP do it?" The BJP contends that a place of worship should not become a political battleground and has planned a large gathering of its workers. The party has indicated that if permission is denied, a major protest will be held on Friday.
