Vinesh Phogat’s uncle and former Dronacharya awardee, Mahavir Phogat said that he is sure that Vinesh will win a Gold Medal this time.
Vinesh Phogat became the first Indian woman in the history of wrestling to reach the final in the Olympics.
Talking exclusively to India Today TV/ Aaj Tak, he said, "I am sure she will bring a Gold medal this time."
He further said that Vinesh Phogat’s win was a "big slap" on former Wrestling Federation of India chief and former MP Brij Bhushan Singh.
Notably, Vinesh Phogat was among the wrestlers who staged months-long protest, demanding the removal of Singh as the WFI chief. They accused him of sexual harassment against seven wrestlers, including a minor.
