Modi, Starmer in Mumbai: Big Push for Trade, Defence & 'Viksit Bharat' Vision | India Today

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer held significant bilateral talks in Mumbai, focusing on strengthening the India-UK relationship. Discussions centered on the Vision 2035 roadmap, a major Free Trade Agreement, and the Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA). The leaders visited the GEO Arts Centre, emphasizing cultural ties alongside economic and strategic cooperation. Key announcements included the establishment of more British university campuses in India and enhanced defence collaboration, demonstrated by the UK carrier strike group exercising with the Indian Navy. During the visit, Keir Starmer endorsed India’s development goals, stating, "your vision of Vikat Bharat is to completely develop the country by 2047. And everything I’ve seen since I’ve been here is absolute proof to me that you’re on track to succeed in that." The UK also reiterated its support for India’s permanent seat on the UN Security Council. #indiauk #modistarmermeet #narendramodi #keirstarmer #freetradeagreement #fta #vision2035 #strategicpartnership #mumbai #viksitbharat #education #defence #ukindia #unsc #foreignpolicy
