Prime Minister Narendra Modi, speaking in Gaya, Bihar, announced that a ‘demographic mission’ will be launched to tackle the issue of infiltration. He stated that infiltrators would not be allowed to decide the country’s future or snatch away jobs and land from India’s youth. During his address, the Prime Minister also proposed a new law against corruption, under which any Prime Minister, Chief Minister, or minister who is arrested and does not get bail within a specified period will have to resign from their post. He launched a strong attack on the RJD and Congress, referencing the previous ‘Lalten Raj’ (Lantern Rule) and accusing them of neglecting Bihar’s development and treating people as a vote bank. The speech also covered the inauguration of development projects worth thousands of crores for Bihar.
