Stalin stated, ‘Today our government has credited five thousand rupees the next three months,’ framing the move as a preemptive step against alleged attempts by the BJP-led central government to stall the scheme. He further promised that under ‘Dravidian Model 2.0’, the monthly grant would be doubled to ₹2,000 if the DMK is re-elected in the 2026 assembly elections. Congress MP Karthi Chidambaram lauded the initiative, describing it as a progressive development for the state. The announcement comes as political parties gear up for the upcoming polls, with Stalin asserting that his government will not back down from supporting women despite external pressures.
