The United States has sent Iran a 15-point plan aimed at ending the war in West Asia, according to sources. The document demands a free maritime zone in the Strait of Hormuz, cessation of funding to proxies in the Gulf region, and decommissioning of enrichment plants at Natanz, Isfahan and Fordow. It also demands that no material be enriched on Iranian soil. The US is seeking a month-long ceasefire to discuss the 15-point agreement with Iran. Iran has outlined its own conditions for truce, including an immediate ceasefire for talks to begin, stopping of all airstrikes and covert operations, recognition of Iran’s sovereignty, ending all efforts for regime change, right to nuclear power and missile programs, Iran’s control or influence over the Strait of Hormuz, compensation for war damages, and binding security guarantees on no future attacks.
