Mid-Air Scare: Southwest Flight Plunges After Near Miss With Fighter Jet
✈️ A Southwest Airlines flight to Las Vegas plunged 300 feet in 36 seconds, terrifying passengers after it received an alert about a nearby aircraft — believed to be a British Hawker Hunter fighter jet.
😱 Passenger Caitlin Burdi said it felt like they were plummeting into a crash, as people were thrown from their seats and two flight attendants were injured.
📍 The plane took off from Hollywood Burbank Airport, and the pilot reportedly told passengers they had lost contact with air traffic control and narrowly avoided a mid-air collision.
⚠️ The FAA has launched an investigation into the incident involving Southwest Flight 1496, which continued on to Las Vegas and landed safely.
