Massive Iceberg Heads for Collision | WION Podcast

The world’s largest remaining iceberg, A-68A, which broke off from Antarctica in 2017, is on a potential collision course with South Georgia Island. Scientists warn that if it strikes, it could disrupt marine ecosystems, block penguins and seals from their feeding routes, and impact fishery patrols. The iceberg, roughly 4,200 square kilometers in size, has been drifting unpredictably due to complex ocean currents. Experts remain uncertain whether it will crash or drift past the island. The event highlights climate change concerns, as Antarctica continues to warm at alarming rates.
