Manu Bhaker recovered from heartbreak at the Tokyo Olympics to become the first Indian to win 2 medals in one single edition of the Olympics at the Paris Olympics 2024. However, the change that Bhaker has undergone in that time has led to many dubbing her ‘Manu Bhaker 2.0’, something she addressed in a free-wheeling chat with Republic SportFit.
When Manu suffered from pistol malfunction that condemned her Tokyo Olympics to failure, she was a shy and quiet teen. Now she comes across as more confident and media friendly – something she credits not only to her own personal growth but also that of her coach Jaspal Rana, whom she says has helped her a lot in that regard.
Manu stated that while most athletes tend to ignore things like how to talk and present themselves in public, Jaspal Rana told her to focus on that and learn how to be more confident in the public eye as it would only help her in the long run.
She also goes into detail about her equation with coach Jaspal Rana as well as all the efforts that went into shaping ‘Manu 2.0’.
