Tewari also raised the issue of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs), recalling an unanswered question to former Law Minister Kiren Rijiju from March 25, 2022, about who possesses the EVM source code. He demanded that the selection committee for Election Commissioners include the Chief Justice of India to ensure neutrality. Furthermore, Tewari criticized pre-election cash transfers by governments, warning they would ‘bankrupt our democracy’, and mentioned his Private Member’s Bill to amend the Anti-Defection Law.
