BJP leader Rahul Sinha says: “Mamata Banerjee and TMC want to stop SIR completely. So they are turning normal deaths (cancer, suicide, family problems) into a big drama and saying people are dying because of SIR. Mamata wrote to the Election Commission using these fake reasons. Actually, TMC workers are putting pressure on officers to keep dead people’s names and duplicate names in the voter list. The officers are scared of TMC, not the Election Commission.”
