Mamata Confronted In Oxford LIVE: Chaos Unfolds As Bengal CM Questioned On Tata, Hindus And RG Kar
While delivering a lecture at Kellogg College, Oxford University, Mamata Banerjee was bombarded with questions from the audience. A section of the audience asked why Tata left the state. In response, the Chief Minister said that Tata, Cognizant are all in the state. They have built industries in Kharagpur, Rajarhat areas. No one has gone. Everyone is there. Many in the audience started calling the Chief Minister a ‘liar’. Immediately, the Chief Minister said, ‘I do not lie’. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee faced questions while giving a speech on investment in Bengal. A section of the audience started clapping during her speech. Mamata said with a smile, "Thank you for greeting me. I am very happy." I am very happy. I will feed you good sweets. As many people started talking at once from the audience, the Chief Minister also said, I cannot hear you. Speak louder. You can raise your voice and speak. This is democracy. You can speak. I will not mind. I will listen carefully. The Chief Minister was also asked about the RG-Kar crowd funding. A person from the audience was heard saying, ‘If you ask a question about this in your state, your ministers will break your fingers.’ Mamata Banerjee strongly protested this allegation by the audience. She directly said, ‘Don’t lie.’ Don’t do politics here. You can do this to me in my state. Not here. Don’t do this. I love you. You know more about crowd funding than I do. Don’t make it a medium for politics. If you want to do politics, go to Bengal and tell your party to become stronger and fight against communal people. Don’t fight with me. Many people in the audience raised their voices and demanded answers from her. Mamata said, "I will answer you." She said, holding a picture in her hand, "This is how you wanted to kill me" (a picture of Mamata Banerjee being attacked during the Left rule). After showing this film, there was a lot of tension. The Chief Minister was told, "Don’t do drama. No one came here to watch your drama. Don’t lie." In response, Mamata said, "Don’t behave like this. By insulting me, you are insulting your own educational institution."
