Mahua Moitra slams 'biased media' | RG Kar Horror Case | UnPolitics with Preeti Choudhry

Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra pushed back against accusations that the party and its female MPs have been silent on critical issues. Addressing the RG Kar incident, Moitra claimed the BJP orchestrated a ‘false propaganda’ campaign, while asserting that the TMC government has not shied away from the issue. She pointed out that the Calcutta Police successfully apprehended the suspect, and the subsequent CBI investigation has not produced any different findings or additional accused persons. Moitra highlighted that West Bengal, under Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, is the only state with a female chief minister, and argued that opposition-ruled states face disproportionate and biased media scrutiny. She stated that when the initial incident at RG Kar occurred, the narrative was spun as if the government was responsible, a claim she and her party members actively refuted on air.
