Amid continuous spells of rain, top Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) alliance leaders staged silent protests across Maharashtra on Saturday, condemning the sex abuse of two girls at a school in Badlapur. The demonstrations saw black flags and ribbons tied to the mouths of the protesters. NCP (SCP) chief Sharad Pawar, who led the protests in Pune, accused the Eknath Shinde-led Mahayuti government of neglecting its responsibility to ensure the safety of women.
