Astronaut Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla has returned to his hometown of Lucknow. A ‘Victory Parade’ is underway in the city to mark his homecoming, where he was received at the airport by Deputy Chief Minister Brijesh Pathak. Accompanied by his parents and sister, Shukla is travelling through the city, greeted by thousands of students from his former school waving the national flag. One person expressed the sentiment on the ground, stating, "We are very happy and we are very proud of him." Following the parade, Shukla is scheduled to meet with Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, having previously met Prime Minister Narendra Modi. For security reasons, he will stay at a government guesthouse for his two-day visit and will not be visiting his personal residence.
