Union Minister Piyush Goyal has asserted that there is no shortage of fuel in India, even as hotels and restaurants across multiple states report disruptions in LPG supplies. Goyal stated that the government is closely watching the situation and looking for newer supply routes, attributing concerns to the ongoing war situation. He said, ‘There is absolutely no shortage of fuel. More details are being worked out.’ However, commercial establishments, particularly in the hospitality sector, have reported significant difficulties in obtaining LPG cylinders, with some restaurants limiting services to tea and coffee. Panic buying has been observed, with even household consumers attempting to stockpile cylinders. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin has written to the central government seeking assistance to address the supply situation. The opposition has called for the Centre to urgently address the issue in Parliament.
