US President Donald Trump has filed a lawsuit against the Wall Street Journal and Rupert Murdoch, seeking 10 million dollars. The suit alleges defamation over an article claiming Trump sent a letter to Jeffrey Epstein in 2003. In a statement, Trump said, ‘Wall Street Journal has been publishing fake news. The articles are malicious and they are defamatory in nature.’ The lawsuit follows a clarification from Trump’s press secretary to the newspaper’s editor, denying the existence of any such letter. The report was based on a review of the Jeffrey Epstein files. Epstein, against whom serious allegations of sexual exploitation were leveled, died in 2019 under mysterious conditions. The release of his files has been a subject of demand since Trump assumed office in January 2025.
