An anonymous source confirmed Thursday that Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf remain in Tehran, with no officials departing amid regional tensions.
Talks are paused, the source added, until the U.S. enforces a Lebanon ceasefire and Israel ends attacks. This follows a Wall Street Journal story alleging a late-Thursday Iranian arrival in Pakistan. Fars News Agency echoed the denial, stating no delegation went and Tehran won’t engage without a full Lebanon truce.
Parliament Speaker Qalibaf cautioned that time is short for the U.S. and Israel to comply. Officials dismissed the reports as deliberate misinformation to erode Iran’s firm position, noting future talks hinge on permanent resolutions, not interim fixes, despite Pakistan’s mediation push.
