He blamed Washington’s "maximalism, shifting goalposts, and blockade" for derailing the highest-level direct US engagement in 47 years, which crumbled at the brink of success despite Tehran’s good-faith effort to end the war (India Today). Araghchi warned: "Good will begets good will, enmity begets enmity," hinting at future diplomacy.
President Masoud Pezeshkian echoed this, stating a deal is feasible if the US drops "totalitarianism" and honors Iran’s rights, praising negotiators like Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf.
Meanwhile, US Central Command announced a blockade of Iranian ports starting 10 a.m. ET Monday (7:30 p.m. IST), targeting all maritime traffic impartially.
