Live This Morning: IMD Issues ‘Red Alert’ In Himachal, Uttarakhand & Jammu & Kashmir
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued red alerts for several districts across Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Jammu and Kashmir, warning of heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, landslides, flash floods, and river flooding. The torrential downpours have already caused building collapses, road blockages, power outages, and suspension of the Shimla‑Kalka railway line. In Uttarakhand, the Char Dham Yatra has been temporarily suspended amid concerns over landslides and washed‑out highways. Authorities are urging residents and travelers in vulnerable areas to exercise extreme caution and stay alert.
