LIVE This Morning: 4 Jaish Terrorists Killed In Joint Anti-Terror Operation In Udhampur Encounter
Security forces eliminated two Pakistani terrorists, including Jaish-e-Mohammad’s top commander Rubani alias Abu Mavia, in a cave in Udhampur’s Ramnagar-Basantgarh area on Wednesday.
Joint teams of the Army, police, and CRPF trapped them during a 20-hour Operation Kiya, launched Tuesday on intelligence inputs. Intense gunfights erupted around 4 pm, with blasts and exchanges continuing into the night as terrorists hid in Jophar Forest caves. Drones aided surveillance before a noon assault neutralized them, recovering an M4 carbine, AK rifle, and ammo.
The Army praised seamless coordination and precision. This marks Udhampur’s second clash since December 15; recent January encounters in Kathua and Kishtwar killed JeM’s Usman—linked to this group—and a paratrooper, amid ongoing hunts in Jammu’s highlands.
