In a statement that’s sending ripples across borders, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh today declared that Sindh, severed from India in 1947’s Partition, remains woven into our civilisational fabric—and borders aren’t set in stone. Speaking at the Sindhi Samaj Sammelan in Delhi, Singh evoked the sacred Indus River, revered by Hindus and many Sindhi Muslims alike, saying, "Today, the land of Sindh may not be part of India, but civilisationally, it will always belong to us. Who knows—tomorrow, Sindh may return to India again." He quoted BJP veteran L.K. Advani, noting how Sindhi Hindus of his generation still ache from the separation, their hearts tied to the homeland they left behind.
These words land amid frosty India-Pakistan ties, six months after Operation Sindoor in May 2025—India’s precision strikes that dismantled nine terror bases of JeM, Hizbul, and LeT in PoK and deep inside Pakistan, pausing only after objectives met, with warnings of resumption if threats return. As PoK voices grow louder for freedom, Singh’s optimism echoes a quiet confidence: history’s unfinished chapters may yet rewrite themselves.
