The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has announced it will challenge the Delhi High Court’s decision to suspend the life sentence and grant bail to former BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar in the 2017 Unnao rape case.
Tarique Rahman, son of former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia and acting chairman of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), has returned to Dhaka after 17 years in exile in London. Seen as Khaleda Zia’s political successor amid her health issues, his arrival marks a major boost for BNP ahead of upcoming elections.
