LIVE: Rajnath Singh Attends ‘Bhoomi Pujan’ Ceremony At BEML Rail Hub For Manufacturing In Raisen, MP
Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh performed the ‘Bhoomi Pujan’ and laid the foundation stone for the BRAHMA Project (BEML Rail Hub for Manufacturing) in Umaria village, Raisen district, Madhya Pradesh, near Bhopal. The Rs 1,800 crore state-of-the-art facility, spread across 60 hectares, will manufacture Vande Bharat, Amrit Bharat, and Metro train coaches, aligning with the Make in India and Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiatives. The ceremony, attended by Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Railway Board Chairman Satish Kumar, BEML Chairman Shantanu Rai, and virtually by Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, marks a significant step toward self-reliance in rail manufacturing. The project is expected to create over 5,000 direct and indirect jobs, boost ancillary industries, and enhance development in Bhopal, Raisen, Sehore, and Vidisha districts. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav emphasized the project’s alignment with PM Narendra Modi’s Swadeshi vision, featuring green factory standards like zero liquid waste, rainwater harvesting, and solar energy. A 3D walkthrough, models, and a short film on BEML’s journey were showcased at the event, highlighting its role in transforming Madhya Pradesh into a rail manufacturing hub.
