Parliament Session Live Updates: Lok Sabha was adjourned till 11 am on Thursday after Opposition MPs created a ruckus and raised slogans near the well of the House soon after it reconvened at 5 pm. Earlier, Congress MP KC Venugopal criticised the proceedings, alleging a double standard in enforcing parliamentary rules. He said the dispute over the past two days revolved around quoting books or magazines, which he claimed was restricted under Article 349. Venugopal pointed out that Rahul Gandhi’s microphone was switched off immediately even after he clarified he was not quoting any book, while BJP MP Nishikant Dubey was allowed to quote from publications for several minutes. Calling it unfair, he termed it an assault on democracy. RJD MP Manoj Jha also raised the issue of General MM Naravane’s unpublished book controversy. Meanwhile, MNM Rajya Sabha MP Kamal Haasan criticised the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls, calling it an attempt to snatch voting rights, and praised Mamata Banerjee for approaching the Supreme Court.
