KP Sharma Oli resigned as Nepal’s Prime Minister on Tuesday following violent protests triggered by a ban on major social media platforms and anger over corruption. At least 22 people were killed and hundreds injured as police used deadly force against demonstrators, mostly youths leading what came to be called the “Gen Z” movement. Despite the government rolling back the ban, protests intensified on the second day, with crowds attacking and injuring Nepalese leaders. India Today is reporting live from ground zero in Nepal.
