In a big setback to Arvind Kejriwal, the Delhi High Court on June 21 halted the Delhi chief minister’s anticipated release just hours before he was set to leave Tihar jail. The court paused Kejriwal’s release after an urgent petition filed by the Enforcement Directorate (ED). Kejriwal would remain in jail till the court hears the probe agency’s petition, which could take another 2-3 days. The high court also issued notice to Mr Kejriwal seeking his response on ED’s plea challenging the trial court’s June 20 order by which he was granted bail.
