The event featured a friendly contest between Messi’s team and the ‘RR9’ team led by Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, which the latter won. The Chief Minister, joined by Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, felicitated the Argentine icon. Addressing the cheering crowd, Messi said, ‘Hello everyone, I just want to thank you for your love today and always.’ The event also saw the presence of football stars Luis Suarez and Rodrigo De Paul. CM Revanth Reddy highlighted the state’s progress, stating, ‘Telangana is rising. Come join the rise.’
