A major protest has erupted in the national capital, featuring a face-off between lawyers and the Delhi Police outside Saket Court. The Saket Bar Association called for the protest after police filed an FIR against several lawyers following a brawl on Thursday. Lawyers have abstained from work, alleging the FIR is false and that the police are biased. Saket Bar Association Secretary, Anil Kumar Basoya, stated, "Our demand is that that they have to close that FIR. They do not pursue that FIR because this FIR Right been false. We had also made the complaint against this head police officer before the same police station, but no FIR till date has been registered." The lawyers claim a police officer manhandled and abused one of their members, and then filed a false complaint. The police maintain that their officer was thrashed by the lawyers.
