Earlier in the day, a group led by Shinde leader Rahool Kanal had forcibly entered Mumbai’s Habitat studio after being outraged by Kamra’s joke. They then proceeded to vandalise the venue and damage property. They issued threats against Kamra, and in an interview with news agency ANI claimed anyone who insults Eknath Shinde will be met with fierce results. However, an FIR has been filed at Khar police station against him and he was arrested earlier today.
Meanwhile, Shiv Sena deputy leader Sanjay Nirupam has threatened to beat Kamra. The police have stepped up security at the UniContinental hotel.
Several Shiv Sena workers gathered outside various police stations to demand legal action against Kamra.
