The Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) had written to the state government on June 3rd, seeking permission for the event at Vidhan Soudha. The letter was sent before 7:30 PM on the match day, a day before the celebration. Sources indicate that the government did not take immediate action on the request or communicate with police officers for their opinion.
