Kremlin admitted that Vadim Krasikov is officer of Russian Security service. The assassin was freed by Germany in a historic prisoner swap with Russia. Kremlin’s admission meant that his 2019 murder of a Chechen exlie was ordered by Russian state. It also hinted that he was linked to Vladimir Putin’s personal guard.
Dmitry Peskov, Putin’s spokesperson said, "Krasikov is an FSB employee. He had served with some of the people working in the president’s security detail."
Krasikov was one of eight Russians released from jails in the West. It was part of a complex exchange deal in which 16 were freed from Russia. Those involved in the negotiations said that Krasikov was important for Putin.
