The Supreme Court on Thursday blasted the Kolkata Police for its handling of the rape and murder of a 31-year-old woman trainee doctor at the city’s RG Kar Medical College and Hospital. Justice JB Pardiwala, who was part of the three-judge bench led by Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud, pointed out the laxity of the Kolkata Police.
"The entire procedure followed by your state is something which I have not come across in the 30 years of my life," Justice Pardiwala said during the hearing.
