Clashes and stone pelting occurred between two communities in Kolhapur, Maharashtra, during a football club event. The situation escalated, resulting in six vehicles being vandalised and set on fire, and eight people getting injured. To control the situation, 200 police personnel were deployed in the area. An official appealed to the public not to believe in social media messages or rumours to prevent further escalation. He stated, "dono ke jo varish neta hai unhone bhi yah awan kiya hai ki jo bhi hua hai woh gair samajh se hua hai aur sab samaj ko awan hai ki kripya karke shanti banaye rakhe" (senior leaders from both communities have appealed that whatever happened was due to a misunderstanding and have appealed for peace). The situation has reportedly been brought under control.
