The Kerala High Court has stayed the release of The Kerala Story 2, originally scheduled for February 27th. The court questioned the censor board, noting that the CBFC appeared to have failed to apply its mind while clearing the film. The High Court also observed that the teaser may distort Kerala’s image and could disturb communal harmony, stating that freedom of expression has its limits and cannot be misused. The makers have said they will approach a higher bench against the ruling. In other news, Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar admitted that guarantees have become a burden on the government, though he clarified that the schemes would not be stopped. Prime Minister Modi met with the cast of Netflix series Fauda during his visit to Israel. The programme also covered protests against Kerala Health Minister Veena George and sexual assault allegations against seer Avimukteshwaranand.
