Kerala: CPIM's 'Hero's Farewell' For Cadre Jailed For Maiming RSS Leader | India Today News

A political controversy has emerged in Kerala after the CPIM organised a send-off for eight party workers convicted in a 1994 assault on RSS leader C Sadanandan Master. The attack left him without both his legs. The convicts surrendered to serve a seven-year prison sentence after the Supreme Court rejected their appeal, concluding a 30-year legal battle. The farewell ceremony was attended by senior CPIM leaders, including Mattanur MLA and former Health Minister KK Shailaja. C Sadanandan has reacted to the send-off, stating it is "unfortunate and also sends a wrong message to the society." He added that such actions motivate criminal activities when party workers are involved.
