Former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has been allotted a new official residence, bungalow number 95 at the Lodhi Estate, following an intervention by the Delhi High Court. The allotment of the Type 7 property was made to Kejriwal in his capacity as the national convener of the Aam Aadmi Party, a national party. This came after the party pursued a legal case arguing he was eligible for government accommodation. According to a reporter on the show, "he is not getting this bungalow, Type 7 bungalow, in capacity as former Chief Minister of Delhi. Rather, as the national convener of a national party." The move has sparked interest, particularly as the AAP had previously shown interest in a bungalow formerly occupied by Mayawati. There is also speculation that Kejriwal’s previous residence, dubbed ‘Shishmahal’, may be converted into a government property.
